Who: The United Church of Heyworth and Faith Fellowship Center (one does not need to be a member of these
churches or any church to participate - everyone is welcome!)
What: A workday on which we invite you to share with us any
projects that you need help with around your home.
When: We are organizing a group of volunteers to be available on Sunday, October 2, 2011 to help do those projects that you have been meaning to do, but maybe don’t have quite a enough skill or quite enough time or quite enough energy to complete.
Why: To take the church outside the walls of our buildings!
Project Possibilities: cleaning up the yard, the gutters, washing windows, or other jobs that don’t require professional training, but require a little ‘elbow grease’. With enough advanced notice we might be able to help with projects that require a little more knowledge and/or training. These will be handled on a case by case basis. Unless specifically communicated, we will anticipate supplying only the helping hands and not the supplies needed (i.e. if you want help painting, we will assume you have the paint, rollers and brushes unless other arrangements have been made – and arrangements can be made)
Do I qualify for help? This helping opportunity is NOT BASED ON FINANCIAL OR PHYSICAL NEEDS. To receive a helping hand on our Faith in Action workday all you have to do to qualify is to open your home to the people who are making themselves available and, of course, tell us about your need.
